Knights of Columbus Family of the Year Award
Mr.
Wall:
— Thank you, Mr. Speaker. In April, the Knights of Columbus held
their provincial convention in Regina and, Mr. Speaker, it was a
special occasion for one particular family from Swift Current.
Stan and Marilyn Lautsch, along with their five children —
Christine, Eric, Emily, Theresa, and Theodore — were recognized
as the Knights of Columbus Family of the Year. Each year the
honour is bestowed upon a family that shows exceptional commitment
to their church, to their community, and to the Knights of
Columbus. And, Mr. Speaker, there are many people in Swift Current
who have been on the receiving end of the generosity of the
Lautsch family. Stan Lautsch is an instructor at the local
college. He’s a Boy Scout leader and involved with the Abilities
Centre. Stan is also active with the Canadian Blood Services which
time and time again in Swift Current surpasses its goal for blood
donations. Marilyn Lautsch is a registered psychiatric nurse.
She’s also involved with Girl Guides, and the Catholic Women’s
League, and the Swift Current branch of the Canadian Mental Health
Association. Their five children — Christine, Eric, Emily,
Theresa, and Theodore — are all actively involved with various
church and community activities as well. Mr. Speaker, Swift
Current is very fortunate to be home to such a volunteer oriented
family as that of Stan and Marilyn Lautsch. And I would ask all
members of the Assembly to join me in congratulating them as the
Knights of Columbus Family of the Year. Thank you, Mr. Speaker.
